~ The Crunch of the Leaves! ~

My Little Em Ready to help rake the leaves!

He looks rather scared! I think they were pricking him! He fell in!

It was a gorgeous day outside today! It was in the high 70's. So, I decided that we had better take advantage of the warm weather and have some fun outside. We started by raking the leaves into a BIG pile! Then the kids jumped in them. Andrew made roads! Emmy had fun on the swings. Andrew helped me take care of some of the summer items still left outside. We had a fun time. Did I mention, I love the smell of fall and the crunch of the leaves under your feet?!? We are very thankful for the wonderful fall day that our Heavenly Father blessed us with!

~ The Blessings ~

I have been doing a Worship Workshop for guitar with the young people in our church. We have been doing this for a little over a month. As we have been doing this, I realize that maybe I should take up the guitar. How can you explain or show someone something different to play if all you can do is hear it in your head?!? This has been on my mind. I had felt it may be a good thing for me to do. There are so many other things on my plate, that I was able to "excuse" it away as just a thought. Well, that was until a week ago Sunday. An individual came up to me and handed me a guitar. They said they felt that I was to have it. WOW!!! That is the word that I would use to describe that moment. I realized at that point I could no longer "excuse" the thought away! It has truly been a blessing. I never realized how nice it would be to play. The first few days, not so much. Plus, I like things to be perfect. I have been learning that with the Guitar, it takes a lot of practice. Your hands have to loosen up. You have to relax. The best part is, at least I find for me, if you actually learn some chords and then use those to play a song, it is very rewarding!!!! I am praying that the Lord will use this for His glory, and that I will be able to help others. I am so blessed with a God who provides!!!!

Friends

I was in the car by myself, the other day, driving. I was thinking about friends. How some people treat their "friends". What is a friend? How sad it is when a person isn't a true friend. I have had many "friends" over the years. I have been hurt, used and have had to get over these things. I have been broken hearted by the friends that have come and gone. Those who have been in my life for a while and for whatever reason, they choose a different path in life and are gone.

Friends are like leaves.
They bud. They stick for awhile, but one day they change, their color, their texture, their form.
The winds blow-some flutter away in the breeze.
Others dance in the storm and continue to fly.

Our Heavenly Father is like the pine.
He sticks no matter the weather the storm.
He never changes.
He's true all the time.
O FAITHFUL FRIEND
Will you FOREVER be mine?

It is so comforting to know that we have a BEST FRIEND that will ALWAYS be there for us.

~ God Does It Again!!!! ~

Have I mentioned that God is so good?!? He did something amazing for me once again. Our little Emmy is growing, and becoming a bigger girl each and every day. We have come to the point that she no longer needs her high chair. She is much more content to sit at the table with us for meal times. So, Saturday, I went off on an adventure to find a booster for her. I had done some research before leaving the house. We found one at Baby R Us for $15. This was the best price that we could find that would be simple and fit our needs. On my way to run some errands, I decided to stop by our Salvo just in case they might have something. ( I have been keeping my eye out for one for quite some time. I hadn't had any success at the local thrift stores or consignment stores. So, we were resolved to have to buy one new.) I had walked through the kids section and was making my way around near the housewares. To my delight, there was a booster seat...it was in horrible need of a good cleaning, and I wasn't even sure that would help. I decided to pass on that one as it needed so much TLC, and I wasn't sure it would even clean up. (I can't believe some people are so dirty...it really grosses me out!) Anyway, I knew that God would provide. I came across another booster. It was just like the one that we had for Andrew only in a different color. We really liked Andrew's and that was what I had originally wanted. Only draw back, it was missing its' straps to go on the chair. ( I was about to pass it up, when I remembered coming across a strap at home earlier in the day.) I went to the register and asked if they would take any less for it being that it was missing the straps! They took a dollar off it! So, I walked out with my blessing for the day!!!! A booster seat, just what I wanted for $3.17 including tax!!!! It cleaned up just fine. On returning home, I found the strap from earlier. It was missing a clip, but God helped me to find the other end!!!! Now, Little Emm is sitting at the table with the family!!!

Here is Emmy's new chair...I tried to get a picture with her in it, but she was less than cooperative!

God is So Good To Me!

I have been wanting a table for the kids. Something that they could use for a picnic table, crafts, school things, etc. I had a table in mind. I had been watching a few sites to see if one would come up. A while back, I was at the Salvo with my Mom. I saw these two yellow chairs. It was exactly what I was looking for, but usually these particular chairs came with a table that had blue legs and a white top. I didn't see the table, and I wasn't about to just buy the chairs. I could use them with something else, but I really wanted the set. A while later I was at the back of the store with Andrew and what did the Lord allow my eyes to see?!? Yes, the table that was covered with electronics. I got the table and two yellow chairs for $8....The Lord knows the desires of our heart. This little table has been one of the most well used pieces of furniture in our house! I am so thankful!

Williamsport

~Andrew had a "job" while we were at Williamsport. He helped hand out prizes to the kids during one of their activities at PFEW! ~

(Above) Andrew warming up and drying off after a swim at the local pool! (Below) Emmy deciding if she really wants to lay down and hold still that long :0)

The days were very hot while we were away. We spent a lot of time either inside in the AC or at the pool. A couple mornings, we found a shady spot to do some sidewalk chalk!

We were thankful that we could be with Daddy while he was away for his job, but so thankful to be home!
